Have you ran 100 meters non stop?

Today we are playing lots of activities.The Marian centre children came.When they started to race they run fast.One runner picked the rope and it was hilarious.I raced with my friends. I had vision running fast.My team cheered for me.

I came first place.It feels good coming first.Then the room 8 did the fun activities.They did 3 legged race, skipping, running back to your team and the 200 meter race.The one I liked was the 200 meter because it is the longest race.Afterwards the rooms 8, and 7 did the "Tug of war".Kauri team won the tug of war.But I know that team will win.The team that came first was Rata, their team was happy.

The Best Visitor In Saint Patricks School

The Best Visitor In Saint Patrick's School 

Tasha came to Saint Patrick's School yesterday. I was excited to see her. The whole school was in Room 4 for Duffy assembly. My teacher introduced Tasha to us. 

Tasha is a lawyer and a singer and a good reader too! Then she sang a song called, "Mum  knows Best". It was a beautiful song and she had a beautiful voice. The next song she sang was "Price Tag" by Jessie J, her favourite singer. Then the school asked questions and Tasha answered them. Lasike ask, "Did you always have that beautiful voice?".

 I laughed because I thought it was a funny question. Then Mrs.Dines asked Rosary from Room 7 to get the box full of Duffy books. When assembly was over, I asked Tasha for a hug. Lupe,Eti and Mary got an autograph. Then my teacher told us to go back to class.

It was a fantastic Duffy Assembly. I wish that Tasha can come back to our school again.

Homework! yes or no?

Homework! Yes or No

Children should be given homework because it is important.I think it is important because it helps us to learn about lots of things and it makes us become smart. When we go to college we could answer all the question that the teacher ask.It can fill our brain with good information.

Sometimes when we get home ,we are tired and we just want to watch TV, play games, play outside or go shopping.Besides, homework is very tiring to do. But, I believe that children should have homework because it will make us the brainy people in the world.

I got captured by ugly and scary monsters.When they touched me I got electric shock and my hair all went up.I felt very scared!. Then they asked me a question about earth: How is earth? Is earth wonderful or not? I told them lies because they plan to come to earth and destroy it. 

I said, "It is really horrible on earth, it is full of poisonous gas, crabs come out of the walls, rats are as tall as a door and they eat monster heads.Volcano blows up every day".They let me go and I walked away. 

I ran into the red light in Jupiter to get into my rocket ship.I saw a lightning and heard a strange sound from the sky as I flew back to earth. I told everybody that there are aliens in Jupiter.They look like green and slimy electrifying creatures that when you touch them, you will get electric shock or you get electrocuted.

1.Fold the paper from the short end to the long end to form a triangle

 2. Fold the extra and to the back to make square.

3. Cut the extra end.

4. Open the square and fold it in half, and fold it again to make quarters and open it.

5. Trace a circle on to the square, and measure 1 cm on each 4 sides.

6. Number and initial each quarter.

7. Cut the circle into quarters.

8. Draw in each quarter.

9. Trace your drawing with pastels.

10. Colour the backgrounds.

Not To Stay At The Moon

I think I should not live on the moon because there is no air,water,trees or living things.I think there are scary UFOs living on the moon.You can float on the moon because there is no gravity.The moon is boring because we can't run fast.The moon is not magnificent because the sky there is black, but on earth the sky is blue.

There is no daylight on the moon but in Earth there is daylight.In the moon there are no buildings, in Earth there are buildings.You can not drive car,bus or train in the moon.I still choose to live in Earth because there is food, water, trees, and buildings.

Children should be allowed to eat chocolate when every they wont to.

I think children should be allowed to eat chocolate because it nice and sweet.All chocolates have milk good for our bones that makes them strong and healthy. Sometimes it will make you lazy because it too sweet.It makes you fat if you eat too much chocolates.

When I ate chocolate it tasted yummy inside my mouth, because it has too much sugar.Children should not ate chocolate because it will give you a stomach ache.

Ice cream

I think children should be allowed to eat ice cream because its sweet and refreshes your body and it keeps you calm.

Ice cream is good for you in sunny days because when it is hot it can cool me down.Ice cream can make your teeth cold when it is still frozen.Most of all ice cream is delicious with cupcakes.   

How Could a Friend Be Better

I believe a friend could be better by not telling lies. A friend could be better by helping their friend get up when they fall down. 

A friend could be better by not gossiping when the teacher is talking.A friend could be better by not getting mad or angry, because they could hurt me. 

The most important way a friend could be better is by sharing each others toy.

How could adults be better?

I believe adults could be better if they don't fight. I believe adults could be better if they listen to kids,because they will talk about something important. Adults should stop smoking in the house, because the kids will get sick.

Adults should stop smacking kids in the public, because I'll be embarrassed. The most important way adults could be better is by helping us in our learning.

Solving maths problem

 Last week I was given the maths problem 5 row of 2 carrot is 10. I know the answer is 10 because 

5 x 2 =10 or 5 + 5 =10

My Grouping within ten

This is my grouping within ten.Today I  used blocks to make my grouping in Tens.I used 5 black blocks and 5 yellow blocks.I have used light blue as my background.

Today I learn to use Google draw to make three pattern.I use baby blue, yellow, red to colour the shape.My background is green.In my odd line I use baby blue, yellow, red then on the even line I use red, baby blue, yellow.

My Trip To The Beach

I went to the beach with my family in the weekend. My cousins and I played dig the sand.
First we looked for a spot.Then my Mum said come and eat before you play.Then my cousins and I got full, because we eat lots of food.Then we played how to dive in the sea.When we dive I swim and I almost drown but my older cousin saved me.After that we all packed up and went home.I had a good time with my family at the beach.

Rugby League

Rugby League

At Rugby League I learned how to play the game. I learned about the movements. Side step and spin and goose jump. We had a race. The teams were green, blue, and yellow.

I was in the blue team. Because blue wasn't my favourite colour, it was green. Then we race up, zigzag, and then try. I side step and went to my class room. And we played again. My feet got hot. Then we have a drink. After that my classmates and I went inside and wrote the things we learned about rugby.  

Badminton

Last Friday our class went to the hall to play badminton.When we arrive there, we had to take off our shoes.Then we had warm ups.We run sideways and our face looking to the wall.I was tired.

Next, was to get the team in two's.The first person goes, then your partner goes.The last one run sideways two times and jump.Then the girls had to get the racket first. After the girls the boys get the rackets too.He said to hold the racket with your  knuckles facing the ground.I hit the shuttle 17 times.Then we had to take the racket and shuttle back.We thank coach Ben for teaching us how to play badminton.

My Pet

The name of my cats are Fred, Jason, and big Ben.Fred is small and, Jason is medium but big Ben is big.My three cats looks cool. Big Ben is helpful, because when I fell down he helped me get up.

Big Ben, Jason ,and Fred was so good to me when I had them in the first day.

On The Holiday

On the holiday I went to my cousins house.I was playing x-box 360.The game that I played was 2K14 and call of duty ghost.After that we had to go to my grandma's house because she was very sick,and at 1:00 am she died.Then we had a Funeral.We had to kiss her good bye, every one cried.

The Best Mum Ever!

I like my mum because she is funny.When I go home she makes me laugh because she tells funny jokes.My Mum is good because she brings my cousins to our house to play games with George and me.

My Mum is kind because when I get a drink she will give one to my friends too.I love my Mum because she supports me in my rugby game.My mum is the only mum I have and I don't want to lose her.

ANZAC celebration!

It was a sad day last Friday, we had ANZAC day celebration.

 Room 7 and 8 prayed to the people who died in Gallipoli during World War One. Then we sing the national anthem. After the song they gave each class a cross and a flower called poppies. Every class room had to put the cross and the poppies on the grass beside the staff room.

Meeting the Waka from Hawaii

Amazing! Today was a history. A waka from Hawaii came to New Zealand.

First we went on a bus to Point England beach. It took us a while to get there.When we arrived there we saw some other  Manaikalani Schools.We had to sing a song called He Honore.Then I heard a man blowing a trumpet horn.It was loud.I saw the Waka and they blew their conch shell horn.

They came ashore by a little boat, and they were greeted by seniors and some intermediate students who performed a Haka to welcome them.That was a cool time ever. 

What is my favourite fruit?

My yummy fruit is mango. It is yummy, sweet and delicious because it is juicy.

The colour of the mango is yellow when it is ripe and it is green when it is not ripe.

The shape of my mango is oval.

The texture is smooth.

The size of the mango is medium.
