What a windy day!

On Saturday 27th of August, it was the finals for us against Ponsonby Koston on their home ground.

As soon as I got out of bed, I went to the living room to watch some rugby videos for half an hour. I watched Julian Savea and his brother as well.

After a while it was time to go so we dropped my brother off to his game at the rugby club.

After that, my mum and I went back home to pick up my dad because he knew the way to Koston.

Before long, we arrived at our destination, it was cold and windy on the field.I was two minutes early before the start of our game. My coach told me that they'll put me on in the second half.

After a while, I went to do some warm ups because I was cold. Once I was warmed up, I went back to cheer for my team.

The other team had scored five tries and my team had only one try so my team thought of a plan. When we got on the field in the second half. I had the best run because I moved forward. We scored five tries in the second half and we made 9 comeback against the other team.

My favourite part of my rugby rugby game was when we won in the end.

Learning intention: We are learning to understand and use appropriate language features in our recount.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I describe my rugby game using past tense verbs.

Oh man! This was a tough game!

On Saturday 20th of August, my team wanted a rematch against Grammar Carlton on our home ground.

When I woke up, I heard my auntie, uncle and dad outside talking, laughing and making jokes. So I went to the living room to watch some rugby and funny videos.

Ten minutes later, I changed into my rugby gear and went to the kitchen to have some breakfast.

As soon as we had finished our breakfast we went to our rugby club. When we got there my mum went to watch my brother's game on field ten on our home ground.

My team and I warmed up by jogging around the field, stretching, passing and practicing our tackles.

After our warm up, we had huddle and had a team talk. The coaches were talking about our attitudes and also about accountability. Soon it was time for our game.

Both teams came onto the field at the same time. The other team started our game off with a kick off and we received the ball. We scored five tries in the first half. As soon as the second half started, the other team quickly edged close to our try line, but my team mate had a plan so he kicked the ball. After that, we and scored six tries and the other team scored a try in the second half.

Altogether my team had 55 points and the other team had 5 points altogether.

My coach and my team supporters were cheering for us when we won. We were happy that we won the game. The players of the day was me and my friend Noah. They gave us three vouchers.

My favorite part of my rugby game was when I ran metres down the field. and made it easier for my team to score tries.
Learning intention: We are learning to understand and use the appropriate language features in our recount.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I describe my rugby game using past tense verbs.
