Yay! I am now 10 years old!

After school I went straight home with my brother and my Dad. When I got home I went and did my homework. Then my dad told me that my cousin went to Poly Fest with his Mum and aunties. The Poly Fest was held in Manukau.

While they were gone, I went to play with his ball. When they came back from Poly Fest, they said to us "We have to wait for the result tomorrow. While we were waiting for the result to come the next day, out we went to visit my Dad's first cousins who played for the Roosters.

We visited his Dad and Mum because his son was going to play for another team in the NRL. Then out of the blue, we all heard a text coming from my cousin's ipad to say that they had won the stick dance and the other group came in second place.

We all jumped up into the air and we hugged him saying,"You did good!" It was late by the time we went home that was when we remembered that my brother missed out on his friend's birthday party. The following day was Sunday and it was my birthday.

The first one to say Happy birthday to me was my brother. After that, I went to the kitchen with my aunt, uncle, cousin and my mum and dad. They all said happy birthday to me and then we went to church to receive our blessing from the priest.

I went home and my aunty went shopping for some food for my birthday. When they came back, they set up the food and I thanked them for buying the food for us all. I felt really happy because it was wonderful to be surrounded by my loving family and eating delicious food together.

Run, the Haast's eagle is coming!

Learning intention: We are learning to develop critical thinking skills using Thinkers Keys.

Success criteria: I know I can do this when I use the Alphabet Key to find words that are related to Haast's Eagle.

What did you do on Easter weekend?

In the long Easter weekend, I went to church with my family. The Priest told everyone who came the meaning of Good Friday. When we arrived home, we went and put on a family movie. I fall asleep towards the end because it was warm lying down on the floor.

The next day we went shopping for my aunt's birthday and after that, we had to set up the chair. Then my aunties and my mum finished preparing all the food. Then we cleaned up the outside and the inside of my house. Next we put up the tent and it only took three minutes because the top part was already pieced together.

Then we played some games and we played NFL 15 MAFIA 3, crysis 3, NBA 2k15 and WWE 2k15. I wanted to play mafia because it was better than the other games. After playing the game for a little while, I landed myself on the wanted list, because I killed some bad guys while saving hostages. After that, we went to church with everyone else and I saw one of the student from my previous school and he now goes to college. I went and asked them, "Do you want to come to St. Patrick's School?"

They looked at me and said that I look familiar to them. Then he found out that my name was Christian. He remembered that when I was little, I had scrapped my knee on the concrete.

It is good for me to go to church because I believe in the Holy Spirit. My favourite part of the day was playing the games because I like the actions in the games.

I didn't know that llamas could eat thorns before!

Learning intention: We are learning to understand the importance of brushing our teeth.

Success criteria: I know I can do this when I write down the 5 steps of brushing our teeth properly.

Do you know how to be safe in a storm?

Learning intention: We are learning to develop our critical thinking skills using thinkers keys. 

Success criteria: I know that I can do this when I use the alphabet key and find words that are related to a storm and brainstorm at least 5 ways to stay safe in a storm.
